smanda, sakura, smanco, smantar, ... Those who just heard the names must be confused. Are they names of people? kinds of food? cities? No, they are not. They are the names of state high schools. Actually, the names of state schools denote their location. For example SDN Simpangan 01 is a state Elementary School which is located in Simpangan area, SMPN 2 Cikarang Utara is a state Junior High school which is located in Cikarang Utara and the school where I teach, SMAN 2 Cikarang Utara is a state Senior High School which is located in Cikarang Utara area. But for High school students, with their special enthusiasm, successfully abbreviated those impractical names of their schools into more popular names among the teenageers. SAKURA is SMA SATU CIKARANG UTARA, SMANDA is SMAN DUA, SMANTAR is SMA PETARUKAN, SMANCO is SMAN COMAL, and there are still many others. With those names, they hope they can show people or other students out there their character and prestige. They feel confident and proud. They feel as if no other schools were better than theirs. They simply state them on their schools merchandises like jackets, pins, pats, etc. On the other hand, a bad thing sometimes happens. They write the abreviation of their schools on public areas which is extremelly forhibitted. Even, they use colorful pylox to write with. oouuuuu.....
