It was narrated by Abdul Qodir Jailani rahimahullah that one day he was walking in a desert. Suddenly he saw a very bright light appear on the horizon. Then he heard an echoing voice calling his name, "O Abdul Qadir, I am your Lord. Indeed, I have made things unlawful to you." So Abdul Qodir said to the source of the voice, "Go away, you cursed devil!" Suddenly the light disappeared and the sky turned dark. A voice called out to him, "O Abdul Qodir, indeed you have been saved from my deception by the virtue of your knowledge and the depth of your understanding. Indeed I have misled with deceit like this to more than seventy famous worshipers. If it were not for your knowledge, you would have gone astray like them.
