Satire for the King (Tagur 42)

Seeing this, the brothers came to Fairuz, the king's assistant, and asked, "Tell us the cause of your anger, or else we will take this matter to the king." Fairuz replied, "If you want to submit it to the king, then do it, I have no rights over my wife."

So they brought this matter to the king. The king handed this case to the royal judge who was sitting next to him. The wife's brother said, "My dear judge, I have employed this man in my garden which is strongly fenced and has a clear wellspring and is overgrown with trees that bear fruit. He then ate the fruit, but then destroyed the wall of the fence, and destroyed the source of the water," The judge turned to Fairuz, the king's assistant, "What do you want to say, Fairuz?" Fairuz replied, "O my Dear judge, indeed I have received the garden and I have handed it back in a better condition than before." The judge asked, "Did he give up the garden the way it was?" The brother replied, "Right, I wonder why he returned it?" The Judge asked, "What do you want to say, Fairuz?" He replied, "By Allah, my lord, I did not return it because I hated her, but one day I came to the garden and I saw the traces of a tiger, so I was afraid that the tiger would kill me. I restrained myself from entering the garden as a tribute to the tiger."

The king who was previously sitting back suddenly sat up straight and said, "O Fairuz, return to your garden safely and calmly. By Allah, the tiger has indeed entered your garden, but he did not touch a leaf or take a single fruit from it. The tiger only went in for a while and come out without destroying anything in it. By Allah, the tiger has never seen a garden like yours, and never before has he seen a garden which fences and trees are so strong." So Fairuz, the king's assistant, came home and took his wife back with him. Neither the judge nor the audience present at the trial knew what had really happened.
