One day a large mosque in Kuffah was full of Moslems who were captivated in listening to Malik Bin Dinar preaching.  Malik Bin Dinar was a zuhud figure and an expert in worship.  At that time he was sitting silently on a chair.  Then he looked up.  The people were amazed to see a sight they had never seen from the imam in the Kufa Mosque.  Malik Bin Dinar's tears rolled down his beard when he saw the crowd filling the mosque to listen to his lecture that day, after in the previous day, he had announced to the people that he wanted to say something they had never heard before and they really had to know it.  .

Then Imam Malik bin Dinar began to open his lecture.  Her voice penetrated the deepest hearts of his  listeners and followers and echoed throughout the room.  He started with iftitah, gave thanks to Allah, and recited sholawat to the Prophet Muhammad Pbuh.  Then he prayed for his listeners and followers for kindness and forgiveness because they had been kind to him so far.  Imam Malik said, "Yesterday I announced to you that today, with the permission of Allah, I would tell you about a man namely Malik Bin Dinar, a poor servant before Allah. In fact I know something in me that you will never know.  And all this time you always think of me as a good person. May Allah repay your good prejudices with kindness too".
