The Ingenuity of Al-Laits Ibn Sa'ad. (Tagur 54)

From Lu'luah, Harun ar-Rashid's servant said that one day there was a dispute between Harun ar-Rashid and his wife, the daughter of his uncle, Zubaidah. Harun said, "I will divorce you if I am not one of the members of heaven." But then Harun regretted his words. Then he gathered the jurists and asked for their opinion. They also have different opinions about Harun's oath.

Harun wrote letters to all the lands of his territory and asked the scholars of his country to come to the palace. After they gathered, Harun asked about the ruling on his oath, 'I will divorce you if I don't enter heaven. They also have different opinions in deciding the status of Harun's oath. Each of them has a different opinion and only one Shaykh has yet to express his opinion. The Shaykh is sitting in the last row. He is Imam al Laits ibn Sa'ad.
