Lu'luah said, "Then we heard joyful applause from behind the veil. Harun said to al-Laits, "You have done your job well." Then he gave him a gift and left Harun ar-Rashid's assembly with honor.

Laits had done a high-level act that showed the beauty of science where truth and ethics could be combined nicely. It can be seen that Imam Al-Laits actually knew the result of the fatwa, that divorce did not occur if Harun ar-Rashid was the one who was afraid in front of God. But the Imam knew that he was not allowed to issue a fatwa before he believed in the condition that Harun was fear of Allah. This belief could be obtained by the oath of Harun Ar-Rashid, so that al-Laits' heart became convinced of the truth of his fatwa. He also asked the people to get out of assembly so that Harun's oath would not be seen by them and would not embarrass him. It was just like the moment when Harun was about to get angry as the Imam wanted to swear at him the first time, had the Imam not reminded him of the conditions that his safety was guaranteed. The fatwa of al-Laits ibn Sa'ad also did not arise from himself, but from the Qur'an "And for those who fear when they face their god, two paradises are awarded." Harun ar-Rashid was at ease with that and he knew he could be back to his wife with the right solution and definite evidence from the Word of Allah. In general, these are all gifts of ethical heeding truth to intelligent and knowing people.
