The Lessons of Associating with Pious People (Tagur ke 50)
One day Shafiq al-Balkhi (a psychiatrist) said to his student Hatim al-Asham, "What have you learned while living with me (30 years)?" Hatim al-Asham replied, "There are six things that I can take." First, I see that people are always hesitant in responding to the problem of provisions for their rizki. They are stingy with their possessions and greedy in obtaining them. But I put my trust in Allah because of His word, "And there is not a single creeping animal (and all living creatures) on this earth but Allah who guarantees his sustenance." Because I am a reptile, my heart is not worried about something that has been guaranteed by Allah, the Mighty and Most Strong." The teacher said, "Good."
