The Story of a Cow and a Child's Devotion to His Mother (Tagur 8)
The young man took the cow to the front of his mother. The mother said, "You are a poor child without property. It is very difficult for you to look for wood during the day and spend the night praying. Go to the market and sell this cow!" The boy asked, "How much should I sell it for, Mom?" The mother said, "Three dinars, and don't sell it without my permission!"
Then the young man went to the market to sell his cow. Then Allah sent an angel disguised as a human to show His power and test how much devotion the young man had to his mother. And Allah is Knowing. The angel said, "How much do you want to sell this cow for?" The young man replied, "Three dinars, but I require the permission of my mother." The angel said, "I will pay you six dinars, but you don't ask your mother's permission." The young man said, "Even If you paid gold the weight of this cow, I will not sell it except with the permission of my mother."
Then the young man returned to his mother and told her the price offer (by the angel earlier). The mother said, "Go back to the man and sell it for six dinars with my permission." The young man returned to the market and met the angel in disguise, "Have you asked your mother's approval?" Asked the angel, the young man replied, "My mother told me not to sell it for less than 6 dinars with the condition of her approval." The angel said, "I will give you 12 dinars, but don't tell her mother about it." The young man refused and returned to his mother telling her the offer. The mother said, "The person who comes to you is an angel disguised as a human to test you. If he comes to you, tell him, "Are you telling us to sell cows or not?" The young man carried out his mother's orders. So the angel said, " Go to your mother and say to her, "hold this cow because Musa Ibn 'Imran will buy this cow from you for someone who was killed by one of Israeli. Do not sell it except for the dinars as heavy as this cow."
Allah has predestined for the Children of Israel to slaughter the cow. The Israeli asked for the characteristics of the cow until Musa explained its characteristics, as a reward for the virtue and mercy of Allah for the young man's devotion to his mother. The Israeli then bought the cow at a price of gold the weight of the cow's body. Then they slaughtered it and struck the dead person with the tail of the cow as ordered by Allah. The dead rose and came back to life with the permission of Allah. His neck was bleeding, and he said, " I was killed by so and so," then his body fell and died again. In the end, the killer did not receive the inheritance."
