I had an English class three days ago. It was Thursday. When the bell was ringing, I walked from the teacher’s room to the classroom. From a distance, as usual, I saw my students were very exciting. So was I. They were joking each other. However, when I entered the classroom, they were in a silent mode.

“Good morning, class!” “Good morning, mum!” “How are you today?” “I’m fine. Mum! Thank you. And you?” “I’m fine too. Thank you” And so, I began the class. I love this class very much. It’s full of brilliant students.

Yes. It is a very special class. A new program was held in our school last July. The school made special classes based on the students’ interest and talent. There are English class, Arabic class, Mathematics class, Chemistry class, Biology class, etc.

So that day, the headmaster called me to his office. He asked me to be an English tutor although he knew that I didn’t graduate from English department. Nevertheless, I liked it very much. It was because I chose English as my alternative skill when I was in the university.

Actually, I used to teach English in some institutions. Kindergarten, Elementary, Junior High, Senior High and also college students. Yet, It had been a while that I didn’t practice my English. For my TOEFL score was not that bad, so I took it as my challenge. Just as the proverb ‘an opportunity never comes twice’.

“Okay, class! Attention, please! Starting from next Monday, I want you to be an MC, Master of Ceremony, here in our English class. It means you must do the opening and the closing as well. Understand?” “Yes, mum!” “Very good. Now, listen carefully! I’ll tell you how to do it, okay!”

It was my best moment. Being with them and practicing my English with them were my best moments. I love it very much. I learn more about English when I teach it. Thank you, girls! For being my great students.
